Application of this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy outlines the management of personal information collected and utilized for our internal purposes (as a controller). This includes Listing details, data about your interactions with our Services, submissions to customer support, and certain data related to your End Users. Please note that this Privacy Policy does not encompass personal information belonging to our employees or job applicants (except when employees or job applicants are Users).
We employ cookies and similar technologies as detailed in our Cookie Policy.
This Privacy Policy outlines how we handle personal information that we collect and utilize for our internal purposes (i.e., where we act as a controller), including your Listing details and information about your interactions and engagement with our Services. This encompasses data you provide to our customer support and specific details about your End Users. This Privacy Policy does not pertain to the personal information of our employees or job applicants (except in cases where employees or job applicants are Users).
We utilize cookies and similar technologies. Our Cookie Policy provides a comprehensive overview of our practices in this regard.
Regarding the personal information held by SquareUnity, we assume several roles under global data privacy laws.
Information We Collect
We gather a range of personal information concerning you or your device, encompassing the following:
Listing Creation Details: Information you furnish to establish a Listing, including email address, first name, and last name.
Paid Services Information: Data provided when signing up for Paid Services, typically incorporating billing address and a portion of payment information, as facilitated by our payment processor (e.g., last four digits, card issuance country, card expiration date).
Correspondence Data: Emails and other communications directed to us, such as customer support inquiries or contributions to our customer message boards or forums. Note that data in public sections of our sites is accessible to others.
Participation Data: Information shared in conjunction with surveys, contests, or promotional activities.
Service and Site Usage Information: Insights derived from your interactions with the Services or Users' sites. This includes IP addresses, preferences, previously visited web pages before accessing our or our Users' sites, browser details, network or device particulars (like browser type and version, operating system, internet service provider, preference configurations, unique device identifiers, language settings, and regional preferences), your engagement with the Services and our Users' sites (e.g., timestamps, clicks, scrolling, browsing duration, searches, transactions, referral pages, loading times, encountered issues such as loading errors).
Partner-Provided Data: Data obtained from our partners to enhance marketing endeavors, improve our Services, and enhance the oversight, management, and assessment of our advertising campaigns. This may include information on when one of our ads is presented to you through a partner's advertising platform.
Additional Information: Any other data you directly submit to us or via Third Party Services if utilizing such services to create a Listing (dependent on your privacy settings with the Third Party Service).
Personal Information We Collect:
At SquareUnity, we acquire personal information from diverse origins, employing three primary approaches:
a. Direct Information Provision
When you engage with our Services, we gather data from you through several means. For example, during registration and Listing management, we ask for your name and email address. Additionally, we store your marketing preferences, emails, and other communications sent to us, encompassing customer support queries and contributions to customer message boards or forums. Further, you might provide us with data in different manners, such as responding to surveys, submitting forms, or participating in contests and similar promotions.
In certain instances, we might necessitate information for contractual or legal purposes. For instance, when you register or transfer a domain name through our Services, we collect your domain registration details to adhere to ICANN, registry, ccTLD, or registrar policies. Similarly, while signing up for Paid Services, you might need to provide a mailing address and select your jurisdiction. This assists in determining the applicable tax collection requirements. When personal information is required, we'll notify you and delineate the implications of not furnishing it. Failure to provide requested personal information could result in an inability to access our Services if such data is indispensable for rendering the service or if legal obligations mandate its collection.
b. Information from Service Utilization
Through your interaction with our Services, we accumulate insights about your engagement, activity, and interaction patterns. This includes data like your IP address(es), device, and browser type, the preceding web page visited prior to accessing our sites, the pages visited on our sites, and the duration of your interactions.
For End Users navigating our Users' sites, we also obtain interaction data, although this is anonymized, aggregated, or pseudonymized to ensure your direct identity remains undisclosed. This information aids us in assessing, delivering, safeguarding, and enhancing our Services, including the development of new products and services.
Several elements of this data are gathered automatically via cookies and akin technologies when utilizing our Services and accessing our Users' sites. Our Users typically manage the utilization of cookies and similar technologies on their sites, excluding those indispensable for providing Services, such as for performance and security reasons. Our use of cookies is expounded upon in our Cookie Policy. Additionally, some of this data is collected through your browser or device in a similar automated manner.
c. Information from External Sources
Subscribing to Paid Services via a Third Party Service recognized as an authorized reseller of our products grants the authorized reseller permission to supply us with Listing information (e.g., name, email address) on your behalf. Additionally, necessary details to finalize your Paid Services subscription, like SU Experts information, might be furnished.
When directly signing up for Paid Services through SquareUnity, we obtain limited payment card details from our payment processor, Stripe. This includes the last four digits, country of issuance, and expiration date. Stripe manages your complete payment information in alignment with their privacy policy.

Your Choices and Rights
In compliance with applicable law (and subject to any pertinent exceptions under law), you may have the privilege to access, modify, amend, or erase personal information.
You retain the ability to amend, or erase personal information within your Listing. Closing your listing can also be achieved by following the guidelines provided in the Terms and Conditions. Please note that for identity verification purposes, we might need to authenticate your identity, which could entail furnishing additional information we possess to confirm your identity. Even if your Listing is live, extra information might be requested if deemed necessary for identity verification. Should your identity or request verification be unattainable, it might hinder our ability, in compliance with applicable law, to fulfill your request. You can also contact us via email at info@squareunity.com to present update, alteration, or deletion requests.
Opting out of marketing communications is feasible by following the instructions to unsubscribe enclosed in the communications themselves.
Kindly note that, due to technical considerations, there could be a delay in erasing your personal information from our systems when such a request is made. Moreover, we will uphold personal information to adhere to the law, safeguard rights, settle disputes, or enforce our legal terms or policies, within the scope allowed by applicable law.
Under applicable law, you might possess the right to limit or object to the processing of your personal information, or to execute the right to data portability. There’s also the possibility of filing a complaint with a competent supervisory authority, subject to the relevant law. If EU data protection laws are pertinent to you, it's advisable to direct complaints of this nature to our primary supervisory authority:

Our Cookie Policy elucidates how you can manage cookies and similar technologies.
If you are an End User of one of our User’s sites, it's advisable to liaise directly with them to exercise your rights in connection with any data they hold about you.
Retention of Your Personal Information
We uphold personal information linked to you or your utilization of the Services as long as your Listing remains active or for the duration required to furnish you with the Services. We also preserve personal information for as long as essential to accomplish the objectives delineated in this Privacy Policy. This entails compliance with legal obligations, safeguarding our interests in the event of disputes, enforcing agreements, and securing our and others' interests.
The specific timeframes for retaining your personal information fluctuate based on the nature of the information and the rationale behind its necessity. Our considerations include adhering to the minimum retention period dictated by law or advised as a sound practice, the timeframe during which a claim can be pursued in connection with an agreement or other matter, whether the personal information has been amalgamated or anonymized, and other pertinent factors. For instance, the duration we retain your email address is correlated to the duration of your active Listing, while the retention period for a support message hinges on the interval since the last submission in the correspondence.
Given that Users may maintain seasonal sites or return to us after a Listing has become inactive, we refrain from instantaneously erasing your personal information when you cancel all Paid Services. Instead, we retain your personal information for a reasonable span to ensure its availability should you decide to return.
If you wish to terminate your Listing, you can do so by adhering to the instructions provided in this guide or by reaching out to us at info@squareunity.com. Upon your request, SquareUnity will expunge the personal information in its possession about you (unless retaining it aligns with the purposes stipulated in this Privacy Policy).
Kindly note that as part of delivering the Services, we accumulate and preserve aggregated, anonymized, or de-personalized information, which may be retained indefinitely.
Security of Personal Information
In acknowledging that no service can be entirely immune to security threats, we are committed to the safeguarding of personal information. We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to effectively counteract inadvertent or unlawful destruction, unintentional loss, unauthorized modification, unauthorized disclosure or access, misappropriation, and any other illicit form of processing concerning the personal information within our custody.
Data Transfers
Personal information that you provide through the Services might be transferred to countries other than your country of residence, such as, for instance, to our servers in the U.S. We also store personal information locally on the devices you utilize to access the Services.
Your personal information could be moved to countries that don't have the same data protection regulations as the country where you initially furnished the information. For instance, data we store might be accessible to law enforcement and national security authorities under specific circumstances.
We employ various approaches to transfer personal information, contingent on whether it is subject to: (a) the European General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR") under Chapter V of the GDPR; or (b) applicable UK data privacy laws aligned with it. These approaches encompass:
Standard data protection clauses: We transfer personal information, as per Article 46 of the GDPR, to recipients who have engaged in the European Commission approved contract for the cross-border transfer of personal data beyond the European Economic Area. Similarly, as per UK law, we transfer personal information to recipients who have adopted the UK Information Commissioner's Office sanctioned international data transfer agreement, along with the UK addendum to such European Commission approved contract.
Other methods: In harmony with Articles 45 and 46 of the GDPR, we may transfer personal information to recipients located in a country that the European Commission or a European data protection supervisory authority has confirmed, through a decision, as providing an adequate level of data protection. This extends to approved certification mechanisms, codes of conduct, and enforceable commitments from the recipient to uphold appropriate safeguards, including with regard to data subjects' rights. Alternatively, transfers may be made to processors committed to adhering to binding corporate rules.
Children's Privacy
Our website is not intended for use by children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 16.
Changes to this Policy
We will periodically update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in technology, law, our business operations, or any other reasons we deem necessary or appropriate. Upon making changes, we will revise the Effective Date at the top of the Privacy Policy and publish it on our websites. In case of material changes or alterations in the way we process personal information, we will inform you accordingly.
We encourage you to revisit this Privacy Policy from time to time to stay informed about any changes since your last visit. By doing so, you will maintain a clear understanding of your relationship with us, including how we handle your personal information.
